MedHack Frequently Asked Questions

What’s a hackathon?

A hackathon is a creative, disruptive and innovative design sprint where people from all walks of life with unique and different experiences come together to create a solution in accordance with the chosen theme.

Who can participate?

Students from any University at any level of study (undergraduate, postgraduate or even if you’ve already graduated), or a professional interested in creating impact through multi-disciplinary collaboration.

We understand that unique and interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary experiences are needed to reimagine the future of healthcare. We welcome all engineers (aerospace, civil, mechanical), designers (architecture, communication design, fine art), clinicians (doctors, nurses, health sciences), business specialists (business analytics, economics, marketing) etc.

How do I register?

Registrations will open in April 2022. Tickets will include a T-shirt, tote bag, and food and drinks over the weekend!

Do I need to create a team before registering?

Not at all. When purchasing a ticket you will have access to our networking night where you will be able to meet other participants and form teams. Teams will also be formed on the first day of the event.

What can I win?

Different prizes will be awarded to teams under a variety of award categories. These prizes can include:

  • Mentorship from experienced professionals

  • Networking opportunities

  • Cash prizes

Do I need experience to attend?

Not at all. MedHack is intended to be a learning experience, the best way to learn is by doing and that is the ethos we apply on the day of the event.

What happens if the event can’t run in person due to COVID-19 restrictions?

If we have to go online - we have got you covered - attendees will be given MedHack gift boxes with merch and snacks, also $1000 will be added to the prize pool!
